the bulls have an allstar

and his name is derek rose. I think next year he will be the starting point guard but it is very impressive for him to make it this year as a 2nd year player. Now which FA wants to play with him?

Great article

Usually i try not to post other people's articles but today's by jason whitlock is just hilarious. Please read for your enjoyment.

Cubs outfield complete

It looks as though the cubs have just signed xavier nady to a 1 yr deal to be the team's 4th outfielder. Nady has the potential to be a starting OF but he hasnt been healthy throughout his career. It looks as though the deal is for 3-4 million. I dont think Nady can play CF so i also think that this move almost guarantees a spot for either sam fuld or tyler colvin as the 5th OF because both of them can play CF. This signing will probably end the reed johnson era. I loved watching reed play and his hustle and heart on the field. Reed you will be missed. Nady, here's hoping your main role is a pinch hitter because that means that Fuku & Soriano are healthy and producing.

A moment of silence for the departure of.....

Aaron Gray is no longer a bull. This is a sad day for the goofy jack haley benching cheering bulls center. i will shed tears now. they get back devin brown from the hornets who basically sucks at shooting but can play defense and is 6-5. The great white hope will be missed.

Welcome back Mad Dog!

He is brother is one of the highest paid pitching coaches in the MLB. Greg Maddux the sure fire hall of famer will be joining the cubs and helping their pitching staff this spring. Look, we know that Greg wont go into the HOF as a cub but he is one of the all time greats and it will be great to have around the cubs again. He was known to be more prepared than anyone and i'm sure his knowledge of the league and pitching can only help the cubs. Could this be a preview to him sharing the bench with another cub great in 2011???

Matt Holliday

god bless the cardinals. so far their signing of Matt Holliday is the best offseason news for a cubs' fan. Yes, Holliday is a good baseball player. Great, no way! Franchise player, not even close. But the cards decided to pay him 17 mill for the next 7 seasons. At the end of the contract he will be 36. St. Louis wave hello to your Soriano. A contract 3 years down the line will be head scratch and will kill your payroll and be absolutely immovalbe. Might Holliday be a good hitter for a time behind Pujols? Yep, absolutely. Who couldnt hit behind Pujols?
But consider not only did the Cards lock up a 30 year old outfielder for 7 more years but assuming they sign Pujols to a contract extension soon which i would imagine would be at least 20 mill per year for the best player in baseball. They have committed almost 40 million in payroll for a team that has never had a payroll over 100 million. Can you really win with a team that has 40% of its payroll in 2 players? There are still at least 23 more players needed on a team.
thank you cardinals for continuing christmas into january for cubs fans!
